Inspired to do more for more, after 10 years, Nina left practice as a certified general surgeon in the UK to run the medical devices European M&A department where over 8 years, her team oversaw the commercialisation of innovative devices and implants. Her first education business focused on early years in emerging countries.

A change in direction saw Mwambu, a graduate in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College, to working at the BBC World Service Africa desk, before embarking on a journey around Africa as an independent journalist where he brought world’s attention first-hand to the genocide in Rwanda and conflict in Sudan. After 25 years in corporate communications and marketing in telecoms, banking, start-ups and campaigning organisations, his concern now is regarding the future of smallholding coffee farmers on Mount Elgon, indigenous guardians to a critical global biodiversity hotspot.
